Casa Vacanze Ferrini is situated in the historic center of Massa Marittima, approximately 20 km from the sea in Maremma Tuscany.

The elegant building is subdivided into 4 holiday apartments and 3 double rooms, surrounded by a beautiful park, as well as parking lots for each apartment.
The sea with the seaside resort Follonica is only 20 km away and can be reached in only 20 minutes by car. Also Scarlino (21 km) with the brand-new Yacht Harbour Etrusca Marina (Puntone) can be reached in 20 minutes.
Driving southward along the coast towards Grosseto (47 km), with marvellous natural coves (Cala Violina, Cala Martina) we meet the small seaside resort Castiglione della Pescaia (45 km); whereas driving northward towards Piombino (harbour town from where are setting out the ferries to Elba Island and la Sardinia) we meet immediately after Follonica the beautiful beach of Torre Mozza, followed by the Perelli beach.
In the hinterland, driving toward Siena (67 km) one meets the enchanting Abbey of San Galgano (ca. 33 km) with the particular uncovered roof, offering particular lights that are different each time of the day.

Starting with the car from Massa Marittima, in a bit more than one hour one can visiti the most important places of historic and cultural interest in Tuscany, such Volterra (65 km), San Gimignano (83 km), Pisa (130 km) and Florence (122 km).
The growth of Massa Marittima as important city during the Middle Ages started around the year thousand, when the bishop's seat was transfered from Populonia.
As the city was always growing and the old city walls weren't sufficient anymore, in 1228 was planned the new city, Città Nuova.
Between 1200 and 1300 Massa Marittima had a flourishing period during which were built the most important monuments such as the San Cerbone cathedral overviewing the characteristic piazza that is considered one of the most beautiful historic squares in Italy.
In the 13th century, Massa Marittima became free commune and during this period was also established Massa Marittima's coin the so called grosso massetano.

Even today, Massa Marittima has conserved a certain charm!
Starting from Casa Ferrini, there are only 25 m to the Goldoni theatre and continuing along the narrow alleys, after a few minutes will open in front of your eyes the enchanting piazza with the cathedral dedicated to San Cerbone. In the piazza as well as in the surrounding alleys there are lots of restaurants with delicious Tuscan cuisine, artisan shops, boutique...
Each year during the summer months, Massa Marittima invites with severeal events, during which the Piazza Duomo is the framework, such as Lirica in Piazza or the medieval crossbow contest Balestro del Girifalco, taking place the last Sunday in May in honour of San Bernardino degli Albizzeschi and the second Sunday in August in honour to the date during which Massa Marittima became free commune (31/7/1225).
From the first and second floor of the building guests might enjoy a fascinating panoramic view over the historic center and the cathedral with the countryside lying underneath until the seaside of the Gulf of Follonica.
